Uganda has qualified for the ICC World Cup for the first time in history

T20 World Cup 2024 will be jointly hosted by West Indies and USA.





For the first time in history, the African country Uganda has qualified for the ICCT 20 World Cup 2024.

In the qualifying round, Uganda won five out of six matches to finish in the top two in the Africa region. Thus, Uganda has managed to qualify for T20 World Cup 2024.

Uganda will be participating in any ICC World Cup event for the first time and will be the fifth African country to participate in the World Cup.

Uganda beat Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Rwanda and Kenya in the qualifying round before losing to Namibia. The Rwandan players were overjoyed to have qualified for the ICC World Cup 2024 for the first time and celebrated this achievement.

It should be noted that T20 World Cup 2024 will be jointly hosted by West Indies and USA. The format of this tournament will be different from the previous two editions in which 20 teams will be divided into four groups of five for the first round.

According to ICC, the top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super 8 stage. The Super 8 teams will be divided into two groups of four, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals.

The lineup of all 20 teams for T20 World Cup 2024 has been completed. The teams participating in the tournament include Australia, England, India, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Canada, Nepal, Oman, Papua New Guinea, Ireland, Scotland, Namibia and Uganda. . Teams from West Indies and USA will be part of the tournament as hosts, while the team from Zimbabwe could not qualify for the World Cup 2024.
